Battery Backup — For Hudson Valley Power Outages
Battery-backup LiftMaster models (8550W, 8500C, 87504-267) operate normally during power outages — typically rated for 20-50 cycles per battery charge. Important for the Hudson Valley after winter storms when the grid goes out and you still need to get the car out of the garage.
Belt Drive — For Attached Garages
For attached garages with bedrooms above (most Hudson Valley new construction), we recommend a belt-drive opener. The belt is dramatically quieter than a chain — no chain rattle, no metallic clatter when the door starts. Standard on the 8550W and Secure View 87504-267 models.
