Top of the Clopay range. Built-to-order real wood doors in mahogany, hemlock, or accoya — no design constraints. The Reynolds choice for high-end Hudson Valley homes where the door is part of the architecture.
Reserve Wood Custom is the top of the Clopay range — built-to-order real wood doors with no design constraints. Mahogany, hemlock, or accoya construction; carriage-house, raised-panel, or modern flush silhouettes; any window configuration; any decorative hardware. This is the door for Hudson Valley homes where the garage door is treated as architecture.
Real wood doors weigh more, cost more, and require more maintenance than any composite or steel option. They also have a warmth, weight, grain depth, and craftsmanship presence that no faux-wood door can fully replicate. Up close, the difference is obvious.
Reserve Wood Custom uses three primary species: mahogany (rich red-brown grain, very durable), hemlock (lighter color, lower cost, classic East Coast wood door), and accoya (acetylated wood — superior dimensional stability, longer warranty, ideal for high-moisture or coastal environments).
No design constraints. Specify panel layout, window grid, hardware, stain, finish — all to your spec. Lead times typically run 8-16 weeks depending on complexity; Reynolds will give you an exact lead time at quote.
Real wood doors need refinishing every 3-7 years depending on sun exposure and finish quality. Accoya extends the maintenance window. Mahogany and hemlock require attention. Reynolds offers a maintenance program — we come back annually to inspect, recoat where needed, and adjust hardware. If maintenance isn't in your plan, consider Canyon Ridge faux-wood instead.
Reserve Wood Custom Series is bespoke pricing — every door is quoted individually based on size, species, design complexity, hardware, and finish. Below are typical Hudson Valley ranges; your written estimate will reflect your specific specification.
Reynolds has installed Reserve Wood Custom doors across Patterson, Brewster, Carmel, Mahopac, Bedford, Katonah, Mt Kisco, Chappaqua, and into Greenwich and Ridgefield CT. Ask us during your estimate to drive by a finished install in your town — seeing the door on a real Hudson Valley home beats any showroom photo. Our showroom at 1270 Rt 311 in Patterson carries physical samples too.

Three primary species: mahogany (rich red-brown grain, very durable, premium price), hemlock (lighter color, classic East Coast wood door, moderate price), and accoya (acetylated wood — exceptional dimensional stability, longest warranty, best for high-moisture exposure). Reynolds discusses tradeoffs at your estimate.
With proper maintenance — refinishing every 3-7 years and annual hardware inspection — Reserve Wood Custom doors regularly last 30+ years across the Hudson Valley. Accoya is the longest-lasting species due to its dimensional stability. Without maintenance, expect significantly less life from any wood door.
Real wood costs more than composite — the material is more expensive, the construction is more labor-intensive, and the doors weigh significantly more (which affects spring sizing, opener selection, and structural considerations). You also pay for full custom design with no constraints. Canyon Ridge is the maintenance-free alternative at one-third to one-half the price.
Accoya is acetylated wood — softwood (typically radiata pine) that's been treated with acetic anhydride to permanently change the cell structure. The result is a wood that doesn't absorb water, doesn't expand and contract seasonally, and resists rot — a 50-year above-ground warranty against rot is standard. Significantly more dimensionally stable than mahogany or hemlock for Hudson Valley climate exposure.
